All Cadillac V-Club members are invited to join a Zoom web conference for an online meeting with Certified HPDE Instructor, Hank Smith. A certified High-Performance Driving Education (HPDE) instructor is an experienced driver trained to teach track safety, car control, and driving technique, often certified through the Motorsport Safety Foundation (MSF). They combine advanced driving skills with communication abilities, passing rigorous evaluations to ensure they can manage a high-speed, stressful environment, focusing on safety and student development. Hank is also the Chapter Director of the Cadillac V-Club Austin Chapter.

Brett Larson of OpenTrack.com who is a Gold Sponsor of the Cadillac V-Club will also be joining this meeting as a guest speaker and to participate in the Q&A session for those members who have questions regarding track insurance.

A lot of track cars are weekend toys — a dedicated build, a second car sitting in the garage between events, or something trailered to the track that never sees a public road. Standard auto policies often don't cover vehicles that aren't street-registered or that are used in performance driving.

Toy insurance is built for exactly this: collector cars, weekend drivers, and track-dedicated builds that deserve real coverage regardless of how often they're on the road.

This year’s BBQ is even more special as we celebrate Andy Vogel’s 50th birthday. That’s right there will absolutely be cake (and probably a few good stories too). Come raise a glass, share some laughs, and help us give Andy a birthday celebration worthy of the V Club.

The party will take place at Tango Mike’s Car Barn, a detail shop with three garage bays that we’re transforming into the ultimate hangout complete with a bourbon tasting room, car photography, and plenty of desserts to keep the energy high. Expect great conversations, beautiful Cadillacs, and a relaxed atmosphere where members, friends, and families can connect.

Entrance to the track is at Gate 2 off Montour Townsend Road (County Rte. 16). Once you are through Gate 2, continue straight towards the east tunnel. Follow the Cadillac parking signage and a Cadillac Car Corral Attendant will direct you into the parking area. Parking is permitted to all Cadillac vehicles.

HOW TO FIND CADILLAC V-PERFORMANCE HOSPITALITY

Guests can walk from the Cadillac V-Performance Corral to the Cadillac V-Performance Hospitality Suite in Tower B located just north of the Corral area. Your suite tickets also allow you access to all grandstands.

You set your own goals and only go as fast as you feel comfortable going. Progress as far as you wish in your own car at your own pace, become a safer driver on the street, and have a blast along the way!

High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) refers to a track day held on a dedicated road racing track designed to teach drivers proper high speed driving in a controlled environment.

HOD offers the best and longest running Beginner/Novice driving program in the industry! (HOD believes in 1-on-1 coaching, and great classroom downloads. Don't settle for "lead-follow." We'll get you up to speed quickly and safely)
Low Car Count Run Groups!
Lunch included for all drivers (Bringing a guest? They can eat with us too, just grab an add-on lunch)
Stay Cooler! (We'll have a dedicated Air-conditioned hospitality suite and allow drivers to run windows up on track!)

The cost to participate will be determined by the HOD run group you select.

Do NOT try to get up at 4:00 am and make a long drive to the track. Go the night before and stay nearby so you can arrive fresh. This will be a long and exhilarating day… we don’t want you napping after lunch!!

Wear sunscreen and bring apparel for any changes in conditions.

Be early to the meetings. Get to know the drivers next to you in the paddock.

Experienced drivers will be super helpful to you – but only listen to our Driving Coaches for your introduction on track technique. Feel free to ask about other cars, or if you find one like yours, ask about what they’ve done to it for the track.

Sebring is renowned for its rough surface. The course still runs on old sections of World War II-era landing fields that were constructed of concrete sections with large seams. The transitions between sections are quite rough and often, sparks fly from the undercarriages of the cars as they traverse them. Much of the track has intentionally been left with its original concrete runway surface. The track surface has 3.04 miles (4.89 km) of asphalt and 0.7 miles (1.1 km) of concrete. Mario Andretti, a 3-time 12 Hours winner, said that one of the hardest parts about the original Sebring track was finding the track to begin with! There had been many accounts of drivers retiring due to accidents at night, quite simply because they got lost on the runway sections and couldn't find the track again. Some drivers got lost even during the day, mostly because the track was poorly marked down with white lines and cones.
