Base fee:
  • Registration for non-members of the Cadillac V-Club and competitors who DO NOT own a Cadillac V-Series vehicle. You are allowed one pit crew or guest at no additional charge. Your additional guests will be required to pay the $10.00 guest fee at the gate. Total entry fee is determined by the # of classes you enter. Limit 16 Entries. Limited to 2005 or later model Corvette Z06/ZR1, Camaro ZL1, Demon, Hellcat or Mustang. You are required to register for a minimum of 1 competition class.
  • This event is open to anyone interested in spectating for a nominal fee. Non-members of the V-Club who plan to spectate are not required to register however $10.00 cash will be due at the gate. You may cancel up to 48 hours prior to event date and receive a full refund.
  • Sponsored Driver Competitor Entry - Available only to sponsors of this event. Sponsors must provide names of drivers NLT February 21, 2020. If you are a sponsored competitor you will need a registration code to register.
  • Registration for members of the Cadillac V-Club. As a V-Club member, you may bring 1 guest as a pit crew members at no additional cost. Additional family members should register as spectators and present their V-Club membership ID at the gate for free entry. Your entry fee is determined by the number of classes you enter and you are required to register for a minimum of 1 competition class. If you are a sponsor of this event, you are not required to register.
  • If you are a V-Club member and plan to attend but not compete, please register to RSVP and you will not be required to pay the spectator fee at the gate. If you have a family membership, you may bring your spouse and/or children at no cost.



The Cadillac V-Club is hosting our 4th annual “Sewell Performance Cadillac V-Racing Top Gun Invitational” drag race and roll race event at the world re-known 1/4 mile drag strip in Ennis Texas on Saturday, February 29, 2020.  This year a special Extreme Street "All Out" Unlimited class has been added which is open to any of the following vehicles manufactured after 2005: Cadillac V, Dodge Hellcat/Demon, Chevrolet Corvette Z06/ZR1/Camaro ZL1, Pontiac GTO and Ford Mustang GT.  With the exception of the Extreme Street "All Out" Unlimited and Roll Racing classes, all other classes are restricted to drivers of Cadillac V-Series vehicles. This is an "invitation only" restricted event and the number of entries is limited.

For spectating, this is a public event and spectators who are not members of the Cadillac V-Club will be required to pay an entry fee at the gate. Cash only, no credit cards accepted.

All Cadillac V-Club Chapters including non-members of the V-Club are invited to participate per the class rules.  Each sponsor will be allocated "no charge" competitor entries based on their level of sponsorship.  Sponsored vehicles are not required to be a Cadillac V-Series vehicle and if a non-V, then they may only compete in the test 'n tune/grudge racing, Roll Racing and the Extreme Street Unlimited classes.

In the event of rain or the temperature is below 50 degrees, the event will be rescheduled to the alternative track date which is Saturday, March 23, 2020.

Event Details

V-Club Member Competitor Class Registration Fee: $50.00 per class up to a maximum of 2 drag racing classes plus the roll racing class (includes 1 pit crew member)
Non-Member Competitor Registration Fee: $100.00 non-member entry fee plus $50 for each competition class up to a maximum of 2 drag racing classes plus the roll racing class (includes 1 pit crew member)
Spectator Fee: $10.00 (children 12-under free and all active V-Club member spectators pay no spectator fee)
Gates Open: 9:00AM
Drivers Meeting: 9:30AM
Track Hot: 10:00AM
Gates Close: 7:00PM
Hospitality:  For lunch, each registered competitor and sponsors and their employees who are members of the V-Club will receive a coupon at the driver's meeting to receive one free meal and drink.  All other guests and spectators will have the option to purchase food and drinks at their expense.

NOTE: Non Cadillac V-Series drivers who are not members or event sponsors and wish to compete in the Extreme Street "All Out" Unlimited class must pay a $100 event participation fee in addition to the $50 class entry fee for a total Competitor Registration fee of $150. All event sponsored drivers may participate in test ‘n tune/grudge racing at no additional cost but must pay the $50 "by-in" fee to participate in Roll Racing class.

Cadillac V-Series owners who ARE NOT members of the Cadillac V-Club may join as a V-Club Regional Member for $100 or a V-Club Local Chapter member for $150 prior to registering for this event and the $100 event participation fee will be waived. Click here to join the Cadillac V-Club.

Top Gun Competiton Vehicle Classes
There will be 9 classes of "Top Gun" competition regardless of modifications to vehicle with the exception of the Daily Driver classes which may NOT have any internal engine modification and must have factory turbos or superchargers. Daily Driver classes may have only 1 performance adder, i.e. twin turbos, supercharger or nitrous. Slicks are not allowed in the Daily Driver classes.

All classes must have a minimum of 8 entries in the finals for a full payout (excluding the roll race class).  Payout will be pro-rated if less than 8 entries.  Top 8 entries from test ‘n tune session in each class will be seeded into a single elimination championship bracket for all classes (excluding the Roll Race class class).  The Roll Race class will include will include all pre-registered competitor entries up to a maximum of 32 entries

Dedicated Motorsports CTS-V Pro Modified (E/T breakout 9.0) - $750 payout to winner, $250 to runner-up + Award plaques

Tapout Tuning ATS-V Pro Modified (E/T breakout 9.5) - $750 payout to winner, $250 to runner-up + Award plaques  

Monster Clutches V-Series Unlimited Manual (Shifter) (no E/T restriction) - $500 payout to winner, $150 to runner-up + Award plaques

Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Extreme Street Unlimited "All Out" (no E/T Restriction) - $1,000 payout to winner, $500 to runner-up + Award plaques)

HyPerformance Xperts All Out Roll Racer - $750 payout to winner, $250 to runner-up + Award plaques (payout based on full draw of 16)

Circle D Specialties CTS-V Street Racer  (E/T breakout 10.0) Award plaques to winner & runner-up

Weapon X Motorsports ATS-V Street Racer  (E/T breakout 10.5) Award plaques to winner & runner-up

Boost Mode Racing CTS-V Daily Driver (E/T breakout 11.0) Award plaques to winner & runner-up

Diesel Dynamics ATS-V Daily Driver (E/T breakout 11.5) Award plaques to winner & runner-up NOTE: CTS-V Sport and CT6-V drivers should compete in this class.

All competitors (drivers) will be required to sign two waivers, one from the Texas Motorplex and one from the V-Club.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: All drivers are required to wear a helmet and long pants (no shorts) in all classes.  Any vehicle running faster than a 9.5 E/T, it is highly recommended that the vehicle include a minimum of a 4 point roll bar and that the driver wear a SFI approved firesuit/gloves/shoes. NHRA safety rules will not be enforced at this private event.

All competitors and sponsors will receive a custom commemorative shirt as a gift for attending and supporting this event.


Track will be fully prep'd so expect excellent traction.  Unlimited passes on the track during 5 hours of test ‘n tune/grudge racing session.  Wait time in the staging lanes should be minimal.

Open Drag Racing Session: 10:00AM - 3:00PM
Competitors choose grudge matches or just line up and race.  Dial in your best E/T which will determine whether or not you make it to the finals in your respective class. Drag radials or slicks are recommended but street tires are allowed.  If there are a lot of vehicles with street tires, lane 2 will be designated for street tires or drag radials/slicks and lane 1 will be drag radials or slicks only.

LUNCH SERVED: 11:00AM - 1:00PM (Test 'n Tune & Grudge Racing will continue while lunch is being served)

Drag Racing Top Gun Finals: 3:00PM - 5:30PM

Both lanes 1 & 2 will be fully prep'd for drag radials/slicks for heads up competitive racing.  This Top Gun finals session will include the Top 8 cars from each class test 'n tune/grudge racing session which will be seeded into a single elimination bracket based on E/T time slips. Cars will be placed in each bracket based on E/T time slips "fastest vs slowest".  Your best E/T will determine seeding and which class of competition you will compete in during the finals.  For example, if you run a 10.99 E/T and you registered to compete in "Daily Driver" class, you will be bumped up to the Street Racer class and not be allowed to compete in the Daily Driver class. 

Any vehicle competing in a Pro Modified class for a cash payout MAY NOT also compete in a Daily Driver or Street Racer class.  However, Pro Modified competitors may also register to compete in the Extreme Street Unlimited "All Out" class.  Every competitor is allowed to compete in a maximum of two drag racing classes plus the roll racing class for a maximum of 3 classes.  A brief driver's meeting will be held to announce the finals bracket competitors and pairings.

All Out Roll Racing Top Gun Finals: 5:30PM - 6:30PM

Advance “buy-in” required at time of registration.  Payback based on a full draw of 16 entries for any class of driver who wants to compete in a single elimination roll racing bracket.  Non Cadillac V-Series vehicles may compete in this class.  You will get 1 “practice” roll race pass before competition begins.  TOP TRAP SPEED RESTRICTED TO 165MPH! First round pairings will be determined by a blind draw to be placed in the bracket. Winners will continue to advance to next round in bracket until the champion is crowned.

The left lane will always be designated as the pace vehicle.  Vehicles will be staged approximately 200 feet behind the starting line "tree" and will be traveling 30-40MPH when they enter the launch pad.  Both vehicles MUST remain side by side within one half car length and the "tree" will go green.

Award Presentation to Class Champions: 6:45PM - 7:00PM

A total of nine TOP GUN Champions will be crowned from the Drag Race and Roll Race events.  Special recognition and awards presentation for "Top Gun" drag race finals and roll race finals.  All class champions will receive custom laser cut steel award plaques.

Built in 1986, The Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. Ever since Darrell Gwynn christened the first all-concrete, quarter-mile, national records and speed milestones have been commonplace at Texas Motorplex.

The Texas Motorplex is a favorite of drivers for the all-concrete race surface and ideal weather conditions, NHRA national events at Texas Motorplex commonly yield national records. Season championship titles are commonly clinched here and race fans get a great speed show!
