The San Antonio chapter invites you to a Hill Country Cruise.

If you like to travel in Texas, you probably know what this is all about.  The Three Twisted Sisters is a popular, scenic route on Ranch Roads 335, 336 and 337 though the South Texas Hill Country that offers you scenic views, Bluebonnets, babbling brooks, flowing creeks, a roller coaster rides over steep hills, quick drops, lots of hard corner carving, hairpin turns, sweepers and unexpected sharp changes of direction.  An overall great driving experience.

Schedule

For as popular as the Three Twisted Sisters are, we really want to go early to avoid as much motorcycle traffic as possible.

First meeting point:

7:00AM: Meet in the back of the Home Depot parking lot located at 1904 North Loop 1604 West, San Antonio, Tx.

9:00AM: We should arrive in Leakey. Turn right onto Market Street/83 and stop at the Stripes on the left.  You should buy fuel at this point as there will be no further gas stations along the next 100 miles.

Once we are ready to leave, we will head north on 83 and veer left onto 337. It’s approximately 41 miles to Texas 41.

Once we hit 41, Turn left.  Travel approximately 13 miles to RR 335.  Turn left onto RR 335.

It’s Approximately 29 miles to the intersection of 335 and 55.  When you hit this intersection, turn LEFT.

Once you are on 55, travel 4.4 miles into Camp Wood to the intersection of 55 and E 4th St/Ranch Rd 337w.  Turn LEFT.

It’s approximately 21 miles back to Leakey.

Just as you come into Leakey, You will see the “Bent Rim Grill” on your left.  We will be stopping for a bite to eat if you’d like to join us.  You can see the menu here:  http://www.bentrimgrill.com

After we are all fed and refreshed and BS’d, you can go about your way back to San Antonio along 16.  (The way we came in).

Please take note:  The reality check on this road is that a lot of people have DIED by being stupid.  Please DON’T BE STUPID when you drive these roads.  Do not drive beyond your abilities or your cars abilities.  We are here to have fun, not to have your car towed from a ravine.

As a group, we will be using FRS radios to keep in contact with as much of the group as possible.  If you have a FRS radio, please bring it with you to help facilitate communication with the group as we travel along the route.

If you have any questions, please contact Chris Johnson – c.johnson@TexasVclub.com
