Cadillac V-Club TechTalks - Mobil 1

All Cadillac V-Club members are invited to join our first Zoom web conference for an online meeting with Clifford Salvesen, Motorsports Technical Advisor for North America at ExxonMobil.

ExxonMobil has now received the official General Motors endorsement for Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40 as the recommended oil for all Cadillac V-Series going back to 2003/4 (inception) with the exception of the twin turbo V6 engine.  This endorsement was announced at the recent Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and Clifford will be reviewing this endorsement during this Mobil 1 Tech Talk.

At this time, General Motors is not willing to publish a recommendation for Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40 for the twin turbo V6 engines without further testing since GM is required to verify that any recommendation meets all fuel economy and emission requirements and there is no testing on record to verify this for Mobil 1 Supercar 0W-40 oil for the twin turbo V6 engine.

Therefore, the LF4 engines in the ATS-V and CT4-Blackwing are impacted by this exception.  All Cadillac V-Series twin turbo V6 engine owners should refer to their owner’s manual for the OEM recommendation for both oil and filter.
