2017 Texas Motor Speedway Friday Night Drags - Week 5

Friday Night Drags is heads up, street style drag racing. Racing is held on the one-eighth-mile pit road and the events are open to any automobile and any driver. Gates open nightly at 6:00 p.m.

Drag Racing or Show-N-Shine entry fee are $20 each.  If you are a V-Club member and RSVP register via the Cadillac V-Club website you will receive free admission to either the Drag Racing or Show-N-Shine event but not both events for you and your spouse if you have a Family membership. If you are a spectator and would like to park in the infield pit area, you will be charged an additional $10 at the gate.

You MUST RSVP and display your member ID card at the gate but if you do not RSVP you will not receive a free pass simply by displaying your ID card.  Your name must be on the RSVP list which will be verified at the gate AND THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY.

6:00pm – Gate 6 & grandstands open
6:15pm – 7:30pm – Practice
6:15pm – 7:30pm – Show-N-Shine (Infield)
7:00pm - Show-N-Shine judging
8:15pm – Drivers’ meeting
7:30pm – 9:00pm – Show-N-Shine/parade lap
9:00pm – Racing registration & tech close
9:10pm – Opening ceremonies
9:15pm – Drag racing

Show-N-Shine Participant Information
Location – South Paddock
Registration through tech at the LiftMaster Garage to be placed into a Division
6:00pm – South tunnel/infield open
6:30pm – 7:30pm – Judging
8:00pm – 8:50pm – Parade lap cruise around track (General admission for infield included)
Anyone can participate in Show-N-Shine
Divisions: Best of Show, Best Classic (1972 or prior year), Best Current Custom (1973 to current), Best Motorcycle

Friday Night Drags Pricing Information
$10.00 Per Person for Adult spectators
$5.00 Per Person for Children under 6 years of age
$20.00 for Drag Racing participant
$20.00 for Show-N-Shine participant
$20.00 for infield pit area vehicle parking

BYOC - bring your own cooler, just remember no glass! Coolers are allowed in the infield and in the stands.

Parking is free outside gate 6 in the PSL lot.  If you want to park in the infield by the pit area, the cost is $20.

Division Information

General Rules (Applies to ALL Divisions)

• All vehicles MUST have stock frames.
• No tube chassis, back-half, wheelie bars or parachutes are allowed.
• Bolt on chassis components allowed.
• Drag radials allowed in all classes.
• Drag slicks allowed in Outlaw and Black Smoke Warrior divisions ONLY.
• Nitrous allowed in Outlaw and Black Smoke Warrior divisions ONLY.
• All cars require current registration EXCEPT Outlaw and Black Smoke Warrior divisions.

Bandit Division - Foreign and domestic cars with three (3), four (4) or five (5) cylinders with or without factory turbo or supercharger; six (6) cylinders with naturally aspirated engines.

Sportsman Division – Foreign and domestic cars with eight (8) cylinders naturally aspirated, six (6) cylinder cars with factory turbo or supercharger; NO engine modification allowed.

Sportsman Modified – Foreign and domestic cars with six (6) cylinders with aftermarket turbo or supercharger; eight (8) cylinders naturally aspirated with internal modifications, i.e. aftermarket heads, cam, etc.

AWD Cars – Foreign and domestic all-wheel drive cars with four (4) or more cylinders and electric powered vehicles.

Super Car Division – Cars with factory authorized upgrades from the likes of Hennesey, Lingenfelter, Roush, Shelby, etc...Foreign and domestic cars with stock body.  Turbo and superchargers allowed.

Black Smoke Warriors – All diesel powered or gas powered trucks, and all wheel drive SUVs; any size all-terrain tire allowed; maximum 31" x 10.5" (drag slicks); 31" x 12.5" (drag radials) size tires.

Outlaw Division – Any car with stock appearing body. Suspension modification allowed. Any engine modifications and rotary engines allowed. Maximum 31 x 10.5w (slicks); 31 x 12.5 (drag radial) size tires.
