All Cadillac V-Club members are invited to join a Zoom web conference for an online meeting with Hunter Sylvester, owner of Theta Motorsports in Woodinville WA.

RSVP registration via CadillacVClub.com is mandatory to confirm your attendance and receive access to the ZOOM credentials necessary to participate in the meeting.  You will need to install the ZOOM app on either your mobile or desktop device in order to participate.  The meeting will begin promptly on October 30 at 5:00PM PDT, 7:00PM CDT and 8:00PM EDT.

AGENDA

Alignment

Alignment settings like camber, caster, and toe significantly affect tire forces, stability, and driver confidence by controlling how tires contact the road and steer.

Dynamic factors such as bump steer, Ackermann, and steering axis inclination further influence handling by altering toe and camber during suspension travel and steering.

Proper alignment, including cross settings and considering compliance steer, is crucial for optimal performance and must be validated with tire data and driver feedback at operating conditions.

Brake Fluid

High-boiling point DOT 4 brake fluid is essential for track use to prevent fluid fade (vapor lock) caused by high temperatures boiling the fluid, which leads to a spongy pedal.

The fluid's "wet" boiling point is particularly important on track as absorbed water migrates to hot spots, reducing the temperature margin before boiling.

Effective brake fluid performance is maximized when combined with proper pads, cooling (ducting, thermal barriers), and consistent maintenance like regular flushing and bleeding.

ECU Tuning

A custom ECM/ECU calibration (tune) is necessary to optimize engine performance and safety when physical hardware modifications (e.g., intake, exhaust, supercharger) are made.

Tuning adjusts key parameters such as boost control, ignition timing, fueling (air-fuel ratio), and thermal management to ensure new components work efficiently and safely.

While tuning offers significant horsepower and torque gains, improved throttle response, and higher sustainable performance, it comes with risks related to fuel quality, heat management, component limits, and potential warranty/emissions issues.

This meeting will be moderated by Rob Milligan, the Cadillac V-Club Communications Director.

Due to ZOOM attendee limitations, this event is restricted to only members of the Cadillac V-Club and to the first 300 members who RSVP to attend.

If you have a family membership or are a sponsor of the V-Club, please RSVP register only once to participate via ZOOM.
